Cover Story – Terence Trent D’Arby

Fiona was a big fan of Terence Trent D’Arby now known as Sananda Maitreya, however, for me and perhaps many others he never managed to better his debut album “Introducing The Hardline According To Terence Trent D’Arby” released back in 1987.

One of the several  hit singles from the album was “Sign Your Name” and I hope Fiona forgives me for posting this cover version by The Sweptaways and Nina Ramsby

“Sign Your Name” – The Sweptaways and Nina Ramsby

The Sweptaways are thirty women who sing choir-arranged versions of pop tunes. Thirty women in color-coordinated or thematic costumes, who always long for the stage and their extravagant live performances.

The album The Sweptaways Show is out on Hybris on April 27th, 2009, with guests like Robyn, Howlin’ Pelle Almqvist, Jens Lekman, Nina Ramsby and Moneybrother.

The Sweptaways debut album Ooh Aah and the EP Cry Cry Christmas were released in 2006, followed by the EP A Christmas Party with The Sweptaways & Friends, 2007 (with guest stars Marit Bergman, Magnus Carlson and The Gray Brigade).
