Twice Removed From Yesterday

Twice Removed from Yesterday was guitarist and songwriter Robin Trower‘s first solo album after leaving Procol Harum, and it was released in 1973 with cover art by “Funky” Paul Olsen.

Although “marketed” as a solo album it was very much a “group” effort as the concept of band and album was to recreate the power trio sound in the mould of the Jimi Hendrix Experience and Cream, Hendrix of course being a major inspiration of Trower’s, with the contribution of the late great Jimmy Dewar as vocalist, bassist and co-writer being of key importance.

The trio was borne out of the short lived group “Jude” which featured Trower, Dewar, drummer Clive Bunker (Jethro Tull) and the great Frankie Miller as vocalist.

As such it is therefore appropriate that I post this the opening track from the album which is a Trower/Miller composition.
