9/11

Nine years on it still ranks as one of the most dumbfounding days in my life.

Fiona and I had been on holiday in the Lake District with a 3 month old Blue.

We arrived home switched on the television and I know it now sounds like a cliche but we honestly for a brief moment thought we were watching a disaster movie….until reality kicked in.

On October 20th 2001 there was a benefit gig at Madison Square Garden under the title “Concert For New York City” the profits from which together with those arising from the subsequent DVD and CD sales went to the families of the Emergency Services.

The Who flew over specially and stole the show with one of their greatest performances.

Happy Birthday Blue!

From the above, Blue is the one looking for food as usual, to this his first drink

to getting ready for his first match

to learning to handle Bonnie a new addition to the family who sadly passed away last June

to now an elderly gent of 10 years standing

“I Love My Dog” – Cat Stevens

I love my dog as much as I love you
But you may fade, my dog will always come through.

All he asks from me is the food to give him strength
All he ever needs is love and that he knows he’ll get

So, I love my dog as much as I love you
But you may fade, my dog will always come through.

All the pay I need comes shining through his eyes
I don’t need no cold water to make me realize that

I love my dog as much as I love you
But you may fade, my dog will always come through.

Na, na, na, na, na, na, nana…

I love my dog as much as I love you
But you may fade, my dog will always come through.

Na, na, na, na, na, na, nana…

I love my dog, Baby, I love my dog. Na, na, na…
I love my dog, Baby, I love my dog. Na, na, na…

Injury Crisis At The Rock

IMG_0159

As Gary Ralston of the Daily Records refers to him “the friendly big mutt called Blue” sustained an injury today at Strathclyde Homes Stadium which will prevent him from travelling on Saturday to Peterhead.

Treatment from the Club Physio was ruled out as Blue needs to be back at work on Monday, thus following a visit to the vet he has been instructed to rest up.

The cause of the injury will be investigated by the Club Safety Officer and a brief report restricted to 250 pages will be available in February.

In the meantime it is strongly denied that the blood stains in the foyer and dressing room are from anywhere else other than Blue’s paw!!

As is appropriate here is Bob Dylan with “Tangled Up In Blue” from the album “Blood On The Tracks”
