The Endless Note

Mull Of Kintyre

The Carskey estate on the Mull of Kintyre, immortalised by Sir Paul McCartney in the 1977 Wings song, has been put on the market for £2.96 million.

McCartney was so inspired by the area’s beauty that he penned the huge Christmas hit. The single was the first in the UK to sell over two million copies and was Wings’ biggest UK hit, it’s rousing finale boasting the Campbeltown Pipe Band.

On the market for £2.95 million the buyer would bag 7,360 acres, a nine bedroom Edwardian house and nine miles of coastline.

  1. Paul does not own the Carskey Estate, never has. His three farms are several miles from Carskey.

    • Hi,

      Thanks for dropping in.

I must say that when I was typing the post I had some doubts particularily having recently read a biography of Linda McCartney which gave a vivid description of their property and a nine bedroom manor house was certainly not included.

With hindsight it looks to me that the estate agent is using the link with Paul as a bait.

      Post now amended.
