Get Well Big George

Tam McLucas from “The Business” and http://www.biggeorgeandthebusiness.com got in touch following my recent posting on Big George to let me know that George isn’t too well at present after suffering a mild stroke.

We all wish him well and in the meantime George this is from you to me to you.

The Strike Nineteens

Thanks goes to “Dave” who recently left a comment on my blog which pointed me in the direction of this great Dumbarton band The Strike Nineteens who like the best bands were friends who set out with the aim to make music together and have some fun along the way.

This video sets the scene.

The track “Live By Numbers” is taken from their debut album “Screams From Denver” which was released last September but more of that later.

It was January 2009 when their debut single “Delicate” was released, which was I believe, produced by Bunnyman Gordy Goudie.

“divine slice of power pop three and a half minutes of driving piano chords buy now and you can tell your friends you were a fan before they went global”

July saw the follow up “You Don’t Love Me” released.

Buy HERE from iTunes who say “coming on like the illegitimate offspring of The Fratellis “Chelsea Dagger” this is a solid gold piece of bouncy pop fun”

The debut album arrived in September 2009.

19th June 2010 will see the release of their new album which I think will be titled “Liberty Calling” at a launch party at ABC2 Glasgow.

Here’s hoping it takes off.

Be lucky!!
