Following her sojourn with Robert Plant which delivered “Raising Sand” my album of the year back in 2007 Alison Krauss has been back in the studio with her regular band Union Station and has just released the resultant album “Paper Airplane”
The album is a slight disappointment as she does not appear to have built on or developed from the “Raising Sand” sessions and has returned to a comfort zone which comes across in the album.
Two tracks stand out for me, one being a cover of my favourite Richard Thompson song “Dimming Of The Day”
The other is this lovely track written with her brother.
