New Music – Bonnie “Prince” Billy
The prolific Bonnie “Prince” Billy (aka Will Oldham) has another album released soon called “Beware”

Will Oldham, AKA Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, here continues to carve his niche in the world of indie-Americana with ‘Beware’, his seventh under his current alias. Where his preceding album, 2008′s ‘Lie Down In The Light’, was a reasonably cheerful and buoyant affair, one look at the song titles alone for this release indicate that Oldham is considerably less bright here. Titles such as ‘Beware Your Only Friend’, ‘Death Final’ and ‘I Don’t Belong To Anyone’ seem to suggest that the mood is significantly more sombre for this outing. The constants with Oldham, though, are his sparse arrangements and world-weary howling delivery, and ‘Beware’ sees him continueto be a much-admired songwriter.

Fiona Friday – Ray Wilson & Stiltskin
I have decided to each Friday post some music that either Fiona loved or music which has been of comfort or inspiration to me during my past and ongoing difficult times trying to come to grips with her passing.
Friday night was always a great night either via a curry carry out with a good bottle of red wine and a movie or with Jane, Peter and the girls and a night of laughs on the Wii.
If we were going out it would almost certainly be with Jim and Marilyn, who also recently passed away, and although Jim and I have ventured to Coanes the last few Friday nights, it just ain’t the same.
Here for both of them are Stiltskin and “Rest In Peace”
Fiona just loved Ray Wilson’s voice anytime we would receive a demo or a new song she would say “Ray could sing the phone book for all I care his voice is that good”
