Creedence Clearwater Revival

I stumbled across CCR by accident in the early 70′s when their album “Cosmo’s Factory” came my way as part of a record swap deal in the school playing field.

At that time I regret to say I was a bit of a “trad rock” listener with Rory Gallagher, Wishbone Ash and Uriah Heep being in heavy rotation on the turntable.

CCR was a breath of fresh air, something totally different and an eye opener to american rock. John Fogerty may have been born in California but his heart and soul was without doubt deep in the roots of Louisiana swamp music.

Their albums have all just been re-released with additional tracks and are all well worth a listen and purchase.

Their self titled debut album was released in 1968 and included many cover versions including the classic below.

“I Put A Spell On You” – CCR [MP3}

Bayou Country followed in 1969

“Proud Mary” – CCR [MP3)

1969 was a busy year with two other album releases Green River and Willy And The Poor Boys

“Bad Moon Rising” – CCR [MP3]

“Fortunate Son” – CCR [MP3]

1970 saw the release of the great Cosmo’s Factory, now I was tempted to post more than one track as there are so many great songs but decided to plump for just one.

“Long As I Can See The Light” – CCR [MP3]

Also released in 1970 was Pendulum

“Have You Ever Seen The Rain” – CCR [MP3]

I don;t have their final album Mardi Gras but the above is more than enough to be getting on with….enjoy and buy the CD’s
